In what is probably the closest any member of the band will ever get to Machu Picchu, fan Kevin Calnan (who looks remarkably like this man) made his way wearing a Ryan Montbleau Band t-shirt. What was he wearing under the shirt? If he's a real fan then it would have been a tattoo of the shirt.

A new band record is in the planning stages and here’s the deal: we need your help.
Ryan Montbleau Band is still a completely independent operation over here. We found distribution for our last record Patience on Friday through a record label, but that only means they help us get the CD in stores. We run our own ship. We paid to make that record and are still paying for it.
And we’re dying to make another one. So we moved into a house together this very week and new material is already well in the works. Studio time is being booked for this summer and fall, but we’re simply not in a position to fund another record on credit. Many people have already written in, asking how they can contribute directly to the cause. A PayPal link has been set up for that...
If you would love to hear another record from Ryan Montbleau Band, we would love your help! Proceeds from the upcoming solo-acoustic release Stages: Volume II will go directly towards making the new band record. I’ll also be doing a series of house concerts in September to raise money for the recording. More info, and more incentives are on the way.
But in the meantime, consider buying the solo record to help us make the big, bad, band one! Drop-cards are on sale now and you can unlock bonus tracks immediately.
Much love to all of you and thank you for getting us this far! There is so much more on the way...
And so does democracy. In 2008 we donated a portion of ticket sales to two wonderful organizations: Rock the Earth and HeadCount. Thanks to your contributions, we were able to send about $4000 to these worthwhile causes. Nice work, you! Way to go!
Ryan is embarking on a six-show solo acoustic tour. These shows are being recorded for the Stages: Volume II album.
Aside from limited edition screen-printed posters, there will be special pre-order download cards for sale which will allow you to download Stages: Volume II way before it comes out. They will also allow you to unlock a ton of bonus material (extra songs, video, deals at the store) in the coming months. For all others, the album will be released September 1st.

Our great friend Zach Deputy had his truck stolen in Paramus, NJ last Friday. All of his instruments, equipment, sound system, you-name-it was on that truck. Just an absolutely crushing loss for a one-of-a-kind performer who spends his life on the road... Please, we encourage you to check out this link and help out a brother in need!
Ryan.
As the shows continue, there is much going on behind the scenes...
After months of deliberations, we're excited to announce that we have found new management. 525 Worldwide is a smart organization of folks (two guys, actually) who have done a great job over the years managing artists we respect. We're delighted and honored to work with these guys, and I feel they are a really great fit. May we continue to follow our vision in and around this insane industry!
Upward and onward,
Ryan.
Hello out there, good people! Check this out: As you may or may not know, we are an independent operation over here and always have been. That means that we run our own business, make and put out our own records, and put our own team together to navigate the waters of this funny industry.
Continuing in that effort, we've just signed a North American distribution deal for our album Patience on Friday! The folks at Rocket Science / Adrenaline Music Group have agreed to market, promote and put this record in stores coast to coast. We still own the music, this just allows it to reach more ears.
Nice! Thanks, Adrenaline. Upward and onward as always, folks. I do believe we just signed a record deal that makes sense!
When we made Patience on Friday in Woodstock last year, we recorded a few extra tracks that didn't quite make it on to the album. These are some old favorites that feature Buddy Cage (of New Riders of the Purple Sage, Bob Dylan, etc.) on pedal steel.
Now you can download these tracks: "Already There" and "You Crazy You" from our online store. These are mixed, mastered, and every bit as delicious as the album cuts. Enjoy...

The 2007 Boston Music Award Best Local Male Vocalist winner Ryan Montbleau has now won the second prize in the 2007 International Songwriter's Competition, as well as third place in the related People's Choice Award. Ryan Montbleau's song "If It Comes Around," from 2007's critically acclaimed album Patience On Friday, took second place from more than 15,000 songs written by amateur and professional songwriters from over 100 countries.
Judges included Tom Waits, Nellie Furtado, Ray Davies, Loretta Lynn, Frank Black and many others. Following the first round, in which Ryan Montbleau Band was a nominee in three categories for three different songs, "If It Comes Around" was chosen as a finalist for the Performance category. The public was then allowed to participate in The People's Choice Award by casting their votes from among the nominees.
If you've heard the new album, and wished that How Many Times? had never been split up into multiple tracks, now it's like it never was. That's right, we've combined them into one single song just for you!
