Hey. My name is James and I've been playing drums since I was 13. I've been playing with Ryan for like eleventy billion years. My brother and I grew up in a family that supported and encouraged music, for which I feel blessed. I've dropped out of college 3 times (Umass-Amherst, Berklee College of Music TWICE!!). I've also had the amazing opportunity to study drums with some of the best teachers and players in the world, including Bob Gullotti, John Ramsey, and most recently, Gary Chaffee. I love all types of music that come from the soul, and some of my favorites are MMW, Radiohead, the Roots, D'Angelo, Martin Sexton, Ray LaMontagne, the Assembly of Dust, and Jesse Ciarmataro, to name a few. My favorite drummers are Steve Gadd, John Bonham, ?uestlove, Tony Williams, and Bill Stewart (I also love Ethan Johns' drumming on the Ray Lamontagne albums). I consider one of my main responsiblilites as a drummer to be connecting with the audience and get people moving, and I love my job! I am wicked lucky to get to travel and make original music with such talented musicians, and meet the coolest people all over the place! Feel free to drop me a line. Peace!
